Care system 'failing vulnerable young' says Ann Coffey
The care system has been "failing some very vulnerable young people" who go missing and are at risk of sexual grooming, according to the chairwoman of the all-party parliamentary group for Runaway and Missing Children and Adults.
Ann Coffey told the Daily Politics some children in England were not protected due to "inadequate data sharing" in the care system, and criticised a series of "poor practices".
Councillor David Simmonds from the Local Government Association said the report "makes very uncomfortable reading" for police, councils, the NHS and voluntary organisations responsible for children.
