Ash trees and dieback disease: MPs on government action

Ministers have said 100,000 ash trees have been destroyed to try and stop the spread of the deadly dieback fungus.

A ban on the import of ash trees came into force on Monday and an expert tree disease taskforce has been established.

In the House of Commons MPs debated the speed of government reaction to the environmental issue.
