PMQs: Nick Clegg on abuse of children in care homes

The deputy prime minister said the government would reach out to victims of abuse in care homes and their "suffering would be atoned for".

Nick Clegg spoke of the "daily drip-drip effect of these horrific revelations" and pledged the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming asked Mr Clegg - standing in for David Cameron at PMQs - about opening the files for people brought up in care to help them.

At last week's PMQs, Mr Cameron was asked about historic allegations about political connections to child sex crimes.
