MPs job share: Meg Hillier and David Amess

Help

Labour MP Meg Hillier said MPs job sharing would be "two for the price of one" and sharing is allowed in other work places, with a claim that some of the electorate "might go for it".

Conservative MP David Amess described it as crazy and demeaning, and claimed the "crackpot idea" would make Parliament "like a reality TV show".

They spoke about the issues of sharing the costs and office space and how to decide which one of the job-sharers would vote.
