Mark Littlewood on government spending taxpayer money
Institute of Economic Affairs Director General Mark Littlewood said he wants a country "where the individuals should stand tall" as he called for a smaller role for government.
He said people need to seize power for themselves and "stop believing the myth the politicians can spend our money and pull levers to make our lives better".
Mr Littlewood said that "politicians and bureaucrats" spend nearly 50% of the country's total national income - much more than in some of the world's fast-growing economies.
