GCSEs and exam changes: Graham Stuart reaction

The government has not made a strong enough case to scrap five core GCSEs for 16-year-olds in England, said the Education Select Committee chairman.

Graham Stuart said the last government did not listen to experts about the Diploma exams, which he claimed had "withered on the vine".

And he warned of the "massive political ramifications" if there were to be further mistakes in reforming exams and his committee was urging the government to "carry people with you".
