Damian McBride on book claims from Gordon Brown era
Former Labour spin doctor Damian McBride said his behaviour "became worse and worse" while he served Gordon Brown.
But Damian McBride said the former prime minister did know what he was getting up to, and said: "I would lie to him."
He also told Andrew Neil that Ed Miliband and Ed Balls also did not know, and claimed: "You might find it inconceivable, but it's true."
Reacting to criticism from Tony Blair's director of communications Alistair Campbell about him helping to see Labour out of office, Mr McBride said: "A lot of people that decided not to vote for the Labour Party in 2005 might feel Alistair Campbell was something to do with that".
