Ex-editor Neil Wallis on Daily Mail Ed Miliband coverage

Ed Miliband was "still harking on" about the Daily Mail coverage of his late father and "desperately keeping it alive", said a former newspaper editor.

Neil Wallis said the "Mail were right to say sorry, and the Mail were right to remove it" from the website, but other newspapers and broadcasters also make mistakes.

And the former executive editor of the News of the World said: "If I had been the editor, I don't think I would have put that headline on it."

He said those in favour of press regulation were using it as a "way to set the agenda in a negative way and the newspapers have not helped themselves."
