Abbott: Mayor of London campaign and This Week role
A high-profile casualty of Ed Miliband's reshuffle has denied she planned to run as Labour candidate in the 2016 London mayoral election.
Andrew Neil told Diane Abbott told that "everybody knows you are going for it", but she said, while laughing: "I have no plans to announce I am running for mayor of London."
And the former shadow public health spokesman named Tessa Jowell, David Lammy and Sadiq Khan as "very talented candidates".
The presenter then asked her about role in BBC One's This Week - the regular panellist left the sofa when she joined the shadow cabinet - and she confirmed her return for this Thursday's programme at 23:35 BST.
