Primary school start age for summer born children challenged

The Department for Education must think again about policies governing when children born in the summer should start at primary school, an MP said.

Lib Dem Annette Brook is challenging government guidance over entry dates for summer-born children going into reception, and year 1, at schools in England.

There are different rules and dates for children in other parts of the UK.

The Dorset MP will debate her film on Thursday's Daily Politics, from 12:00 GMT on BBC Two
