Danny Alexander: 'I thought it was a spoof at first'

The Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander, has said that he thought that an online advert from the Conservative party was a spoof at first.

Speaking on BBC Newsnight, Mr Alexander said that the poster, which says that cutting tax on bingo and reducing beer duty helps "hardworking people do more of the things they enjoy" was patronising.
