Labour denies election broadcast is negative and a smear

A party election broadcast showing Tories deliberating targeting disabled people is "factual", the Labour party's election co-ordinator, Douglas Alexander, has claimed.

Appearing on the BBC's Sunday Politics programme, Mr Alexander defended the film, as well as a campaign poster which highlighted an increase in VAT paid on shopping - illustrated with mostly non-VAT incurring items.

The Conservatives said the broadcast showed Labour had no economic plan.
