LED streetlights stop people sleeping, says campaigner
Light Emitting Diode lights, known as LEDs, are increasingly popular for flickering indicators on machines, vehicle headlights, industrial lighting and streetlights as they are seen as more efficient and longer lasting than traditional lamps.
Simon Nicholas, who campaigns against LED street lighting helped postpone their introduction in his home area of Trafford in Greater Manchester, made this Daily Politics film in a London borough where they have been brought in.
He said these lights have health issues and can stop people sleeping, and debated his film with Conservative Damian Green and Labour's Mary Creagh.
