Godfrey Bloom: political highlights of former UKIP MEP

Godfrey Bloom remains unrepentant about the headlines he made during his time as a UKIP MEP, although he served out his final months as an independent.

Giles Dilnot looks back at the career of the politician - best remembered for his comments about "bongo bongo land" and women cleaning behind their fridges.

He served Yorkshire and the Humber in Brussels for 10 years, before standing down at the May 2014 elections, and whose term of office ends this month.
