David Steel: Rapping, Spitting Image and Boy David tag
David Steel, the former MP, party leader and later Sir David and Lord Steel, has been a big political figure in British politics for nearly half a century.
He looked back over his career - from the Boy David tag which he hated to elder statesman - in a Daily Politics film with Jo Coburn.
They started with the African issues that put him on a career to Westminster and Holyrood, and how he rapped about the Alliance's chances of government after his famous speech telling members to return to their constituencies and prepare for government.
And Lord Steel also spoke about his relations with David Owen, and their appearances on ITV's Spitting Image, and his regrets over how politics affected his family life.
