Autumn Statement: George Osborne says 'deficit is falling'
The UK's deficit is falling and borrowing is "lower than predicted in the budget", the chancellor has claimed in his Autumn Statement.
George Osborne made the claim while setting out the latest economic forecasts and government spending plans to MPs.
He said that the country was getting "out of the red and into the black for the first time in a generation".
