Keir Starmer: Communication laws need to be modernised

Labour shadow home office minister Keir Starmer has said that there is a need for the laws allowing monitoring of digital communications to be modernised.

Speaking to the BBC's Andrew Neil, he said that there was "a chance" to agree a framework for the future with the "right safeguards" which must include judicial oversight, and said that the home secretary had "stepped in the right direction".
