Hilary Benn: 'IS hold our democracy in contempt'

Hilary Benn was applauded by MPs as he urged Labour members to confront the "evil" posed by Islamic State, who he said "hold our democracy in contempt".

MPs voted by 397 to 223 to authorise UK air strikes against IS in Syria after a 10-hour Commons debate.

The shadow foreign secretary made a passionate speech ahead of the vote.
