Lord Carlile: 'Copycat element' in terror event

A photograph of a man carrying knives near the Houses of Parliament, who was arrested by police on suspicion of terrorism offences yesterday, has been made public.

Lord Carlile, independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, told Today that the event suggested the suspect "almost certainly" embodied "a copycat element" and "most possibly a mental health element".

He also added that publicly circulating close-up photographs of suspects should be done in a responsible way.
