Gove sorry to Covid victims 'who endured so much pain'
The former Cabinet Office minister has apologised for the "mistakes that were made by the government" during the pandemic.
Michael Gove told the Covid inquiry he must take his "share of the responsibility", adding that politicians were “fallible” and made mistakes and errors.
He said they were dealing with a “unprecedented virus, and a remarkable assault on the institutions of the country”.
The current levelling up and housing secretary is expected to gives several hours of evidence on Tuesday.
