General election 2024: Sunak and Starmer go head to head in TV debate
Sir Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak went head to head in their first TV debate of the election campaign.
The two leaders clashed over tax, healthcare, immigration and the European Convention on Human Rights. During the heated argument on immigration, both the Conservative leader and the Labour leader had to be asked to lower their voices.
They took part in an hour-long programme on ITV, moderated by presenter Julie Etchingham, who also hosted debates in 2015, 2017 and 2019. Watch the highlights from the ITV debate in just over two minutes here.
