Ferry contract 'jobs for the boys' claim dismissed

The first minister has said there was "categorically" not a "jobs for the boys" element in the awarding of the controversial west coast ferry contract.

It follows the suggestion from public audit committee member Sharon Dowey that connections between the Scottish government and businessman Jim McColl may have been at play.

Nicola Sturgeon dismissed this and insisted the ferry contract was awarded purely on the assessment of the bid.
