Edinburgh's most famous park considers banning cars

Edinburgh's most famous park is facing increasing pressure to ban cars going through it.

A public consultation into the future of Holyrood Park is under way, with one proposal to go car-free.

It is hoped this would promote active travel and improve the health of the natural environment.

However, the park is already closed to vehicles at certain times at the weekend and there are fears that extending this could cause congestion in other parts of the city.

Historic Environment Scotland are running the consultation and people have until 19 December to submit their views.
