On the trail of the escapee monkey in the Scottish Highlands

A monkey that was on the loose in the Scottish Highlands for five days has been safely recaptured.

The Japanese macaque - called Honshu - escaped from Highland Wildlife Park near Aviemore, prompting a widespread search operation.

Honshu was spotted helping himself to bird feed in a nearby garden before he was tranquillised by rangers and taken back to the park for a health check-up.

The BBC’s Iain Macinnes looks back at how the search unfolded.
