Humza Yousaf hopes for tax freeze in all Scottish councils

First Minister Humza Yousaf has said he hopes all of Scotland's local authorities will freeze the council tax.

Argyll and Bute Council voted on Thursday to raise council tax by 10%, becoming the first council to reject the Scottish government's council tax freeze.

Deputy First Minister Shona Robison had written to councils on Wednesday offering them an extra £62.7m in funding if they voted to implement the freeze.

Mr Yousaf said he hoped Argyll and Bute Council would "reconsider" its decision.

Glasgow, the Western Isles, the Scottish Borders, North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire have already implemented a freeze.
