The Charlatans to play at Edinburgh's Hogmanay

The Charlatans will be performing alongside Edinburgh's Hogmanay headliners Biffy Clyro at the Concert in the Gardens, it has been announced.

The band have been celebrating their 20th anniversary and will end the year by performing at the Hogmanay party.

The capital's music and fireworks spectacular is seen as one of the greatest celebrations of New Year in the world.

Details of the full programme for the party will be released next month.

Tim Burgess, lead singer with The Charlatans, said: "The Charlatans are delighted to be playing Edinburgh's Hogmanay… it's going to be the party of the decade. See you there."

Vic Galloway, BBC Radio presenter and Concert in the Gardens host, said: "I can't wait for Edinburgh's Hogmanay to present this show.

"I've loved Biffy Clyro since before they were signed, and now my boys are one of the biggest and best rock bands in the world.

"And to have Manchester legends The Charlatans there as well, what a night - it's just top."
