People who target aircraft with laser pointers will be treated "extremely seriously", police have warned.
It comes after the latest incident where a laser was aimed at an Easyjet plane coming in to land in Edinburgh.
Pilots of the Airbus A319 from Stansted reported the green beam being shone at them on Monday at 22:45.
Lothian and Borders Police investigating the incident said the light originated from the Duddingston Loch area of the capital.
A Lothian and Borders spokesman said: "Police are investigating an incident that happened at about 22:45 on Monday, where a laser light was shone at an aircraft as it approached Edinburgh Airport.
"The light is thought to have emanated from the Duddingston Loch area of Edinburgh.
"We treat such incidents extremely seriously, and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area of Duddingston Loch on Monday night, or who has any other information that can assist our inquiries, to contact police immediately."
