Flood damage keeps Alyth museum closed
- Published
Alyth Museum will remain closed until further notice due to damage caused by flash flooding in the Perthshire town on Friday.
Flood water reached the museum's reception area and the foot of the stairs, resulting in damage to carpeting and electrical items.
It also seeped into the timber structure of the building.
The museum collections and displays are intact and items at risk have been removed while the building dries out.
Work has already begun on assessing and repairing the damage and it is hoped that the museum will re-open its doors within a few weeks.
Perth and Kinross Museums and Galleries has cancelled two forthcoming family events.
