Road to Forth Bridge to be closed on three Sundays

One of Scotland's busiest roads is to be closed to all traffic on three Sundays as part of work on the Forth Replacement Crossing project.
The A90 and M90 south of the Forth Road Bridge will be shut, and the bridge will only be open for local access.
The section, which includes the M9 spur, will be shut from 20:00 on each Saturday until 06:00 on the Monday.
The closures will take place on 24 and 25 October; 31 October and 1 November; and 14 and 15 November.
Diversions will be in place but drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
Bridge demolition
The diversion route will involve the M9, the Kincardine Bridge and the A985.
However, there will still be local access between South Queensferry, Kirkliston and Dalmeny.
The work will enable the demolition of the B800 bridge between South Queensferry and Kirkliston.
Steven Brown, Transport Scotland's roads and infrastructure manager said: "The team intends to demolish the old B800 bridge over three weekends, avoiding Remembrance Sunday.
"We will work closely with our contractor to ensure every effort is made to reduce the duration of the closure and to lift the restrictions as early as is possible."
