A man and a woman have been arrested and charged after a fire ripped through a four-storey block of flats in Fife.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said seven fire engines and two height vehicles were dispatched to the building on Francis Street in Lochgelly at about 19:00 on Monday.

Police Scotland said a 33-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were due to appear in court later.

The SFRS said there were no reports of any casualties following the fire.

Eyewitness footage showed flames in the window of an upper flat, which spread and engulfed the roof of the building.
