Controversial Hyndford Quarry extension called in

Hyndford Quarry is close to the New Lanark world heritage site
A controversial planning application to extend a quarry close to the New Lanark World Heritage Site has been called in for review by Scottish ministers.
South Lanarkshire Council approved plans at the end of last year by Cemex UK to extend Hyndford Quarry.
Campaigners say a larger site would endanger the heritage site and a nearby conservation area.
A reporter will now examine the scheme and recommend to ministers whether planning consent should be granted.
