Writer and artist Alasdair Gray discharged from hospital

The writer and artist Alasdair Gray has been discharged from hospital - seven months after being injured in a fall outside his home in Glasgow.

The 81-year-old sustained serious injuries in the fall in June last year.

He has continued to work over the last few months on a translation of work by the Italian poet, Dante Alighieri.

Mr Gray is best known for his novel, Lanark and for murals in the Oran Mor pub and Hillhead underground station in the west end of Glasgow.
