Two arrests over 'terrifying' armed raid at McDonalds in Coatbridge

The McDonalds branch at Showcase Leisure Park near Coatbridge was targeted

Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a McDonalds restaurant near Coatbridge.

A man brandishing a knife entered the premises in Showcase Leisure Park, at about 02:19 on 14 July, and demanded cash from a female worker.

He threatened staff before stealing a till. Afterwards, police described the incident as "terrifying" for staff.

Two men, aged 49 and 39, have been detained over the robbery and are due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
