Man in court charged with murder in Renfrew common close

A 47-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man who was found in a common close in Renfrew.
Alastair Campbell, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene in Renfield Street after emergency services attended at about 03:00 on Monday.
James Cook was charged with murder and attempted robbery when he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court.
He made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
