Two dead in car crash on A9 near Dalwhinnie

The accident on the A9 near Dalwhinnie closed the road

Two people have died after a crash involving two cars on the A9 in the Highlands.

Police said the collision happened about a mile-and-a-half south of Dalwhinnie at about 1215 GMT.

Northern Constabulary the section of road affected was expected to remain closed for several hours.

Officers from the force's road policing unit have arrived at the scene to carry out a full road collision investigation.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident.
