Plans for a new village with a university campus in the south of Skye has been given outline planning permission by Highland councillors.
The Clan Donald Lands Trust proposes building 93 homes, a shop and teaching space at Kilbeg next to Sabhal Mor Ostaig college.
If given full planning permission, the scheme would be constructed in phases over a 20-year period.
The 40 acre (16 ha) site is on a 20,000 acres (8,093 ha) estate in Sleat.
Sabhal Mor Ostaig is part of the new University of the Highlands and Islands.
Sir Ian Macdonald, chairman of the Clan Donald Lands Trust, said Kilbeg sits in one of the most scenic locations in Scotland.
He added: "Whatever development to be undertaken on this site has to be of the highest quality, and reflect the trust's own central ambition to preserve the historic lands of Clan Donald for the benefit of all clansmen and those interested in Highland culture throughout the world.
"However, the village will be a 21st Century dynamic hub."
