A masterplan and design guidelines for a campus for the University of the Highlands and Islands are to be considered by Highland councillors.
Beechwood, a site on the outskirts of Inverness, will also be developed as a research and business centre.
Highland Council granted planning permission in principle in May 2011.
One of the conditions attached to the permission was that Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) submit a masterplan and design guidelines.
Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey planning applications committee will consider the documents on Tuesday.
A ceremony and celebrations marking the creation of the new university were held on Thursday.
