Moray Firth offshore wind farm 'would bring jobs boost'

An offshore wind farm planned for a site next to the Beatrice oil field in the Moray Firth could support hundreds of jobs, its developer has claimed.
Moray Offshore Renewables said a new report it commissioned estimated that up to 1,400 construction workers would be needed during the farm's creation.
The report said a further 280 people would be required to operate and maintain up to 350 turbines.
Electricity would be sent to a connection point near Peterhead.
Moray Offshore Renewables consists of Madrid-headquartered EDP Renewables and Repsol, a renewable energy developer operating in 30 countries.
The report is to be made available at a series of public exhibitions being held in Wick, Helmsdale, Inverness, Fraserburgh, Buckie and Elgin over the next three weeks.
Two demonstration wind turbines have been at the Beatrice Field since 2007.
