Skiers take advantage of Glencoe and Cairngorms snow
- Published
Skiers have been taking advantage of fresh snowfalls in the Cairngorms and Glencoe, while Nevis Range has hopes for improved conditions on Sunday.
CairnGorm Mountain said earlier that more than 300 snowsports enthusiasts were at the resort.
Glencoe Mountain has also been able to open runs, with the best skiing in the Main Basin, Happy Valley, Etive Glades and the Spring run.
Nevis Range may run a chair lift on Sunday to give back country access.
Ski Scotland said Glenshee and The Lecht have insufficient snow for skiing and boarding at present.
CairnGorm is holding its Big Weekend, a programme of competitive events.
Before the competitions started, marketing manager Colin Kirkwood said runs were in good condition.
He said: "The M1 run is set up perfectly with 'pisted corduroy' and is probably in the best condition it has been all season with full width down to below the steep section and one machine width below that.
The M1 Poma, Polar Express, Ciste and Ptarmigan Tows are all open with the top bowls and Ciste fairway providing great snowsports on the firm base which has now been established."
Mr Kirkwood added: "We urge all snowsports fans to take advantage of these conditions."
