Shinty head gear sponsorship secured

A sponsorship deal has been reached to support the introduction of safety helmets for all youth shinty players.

From the start of next season, all players aged 17 and under will be required to wear a helmet and faceguard in youth and senior competitions.

The rules have applied to players aged 14 and under for a number of years.

The Camanachd Association's latest roll out of safety gear will be sponsored by Inverness-based Orion Group with the funding matched by Sportscotland.
