Organisers of RockNess are trying to find dates for this year's event that will avoid competing for audiences with the World Cup and Commonweath Games.

The music festival usually takes place in June at Dores on Loch Ness.

The World Cup will be held in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July and Glasgow 2014 from 23 July to 3 August.

A spokesperson said: "We are continuing to work on plans for RockNess and announcements will be made in the near future."

Headline acts at RockNess last year included The Vaccines, Plan B and Madness.

Popular performers in the past have included Daft Punk, winners of five prizes at the 56th Grammy Awards.

The French dance duo played at the festival near Inverness in 2007.
