Fort William's bird nest Christmas tree removed

  • Published

A town's Christmas tree that was left up longer than planned because a bird had nested in its branches has finally been removed.

The bird was discovered in late January when Highland Council workers began efforts to remove the tree and lights.

Scottish Natural Heritage said the bird could be scared off, but councillors agreed to wait until the pigeon gave up the nest.

The council said it had been possible to remove the tree.
