Ultrafast broadband is to be made available to more than 100,000 properties in the Highlands.
The publicly-owned Scottish National Investment Bank (SNIB) has invested £10m in the rollout of gigabit-capable networks.
Highland Broadband, which is part of Lothian Broadband Networks Ltd, is carrying out the work.
SNIB provided the company with £20m funding in 2021 and again in 2023 to boost connectivity across Scotland.
The latest phase involves network improvements across the Black Isle, Great Glen and Cairngorms.
Gavin Rodgers, of Highland Broadband, said: "The bank's continued support has enabled us to accelerate our plan to connect these regions, which ultimately helps reduce place-based inequality in areas such as education, employment and healthcare."
