The first major arrival of snow to hit Grampian ahead of the winter season has been causing problems for drivers.

A Grampian Police spokesperson said most routes had seen varying levels of snow.

The B974 at Cairn o' Mount was closed due to snow and ice causing difficult driving conditions, with some vehicles stuck.

Other routes badly affected included the A90 at Temple of Fiddes and the B993 Millbank to Torphins road.

Police urged drivers to take extra care.
