North Sea platform resumes work after gas release

A North Sea gas platform which suffered a gas release has resumed production.
The 135 personnel on board Chevron's Alba Northern platform, 130 miles north east of Aberdeen, were called to muster on Wednesday afternoon.
Chevron said emergency shutdown systems were activated immediately, functioned correctly, and no-one was hurt. Production resumed on Thursday night.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed about the incident and an investigation is under way.
