Freeze hits schools and roads in north east Scotland
- Published
Freezing overnight temperatures have caused more problems in the north east and Northern Isles for a 15th consecutive day.
More than 20 schools in Aberdeenshire have been forced to close, as have six on Shetland.
Two Orkney schools have also been shut, but Aberdeen and Moray have escaped closures.
Grampian Police said some high levels routes were closed, and drifting snow was causing problems on other routes.
The Met Office later issued a warning of drifting snow, heavy snow and widespread icy roads for Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.
