Aberdeen teacher strike warning issued by EIS union

  • Published

A union has warned teaching staff in Aberdeen could go on strike over council plans to cut jobs from schools.

The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) has sent letters to councillors stressing concern at cuts proposed in the local authority's five-year plan.

The measures could see the loss of pupil support assistants, specialist teachers for pupils with additional needs and nursery staff.

The EIS also wants clarity on early retirement and voluntary severance.
