A full meeting of Aberdeen City Council has approved plans to cut £120m from its budget over the next five years.
The cost-cutting proposals, which could see the loss of hundreds of public sector jobs and service cuts, have outraged unions.
A protest - with some people dressed as pantomime dames - took place outside council headquarters where the meeting was being held.
Council leader John Stewart had already warned cuts were "inevitable".
But he vowed that the council would seek to protect those most in need.
