New Press and Journal editor named as Damian Bates

A successor to the longest-serving editor of a daily Scottish newspaper has been named.
Damian Bates is to replace Derek Tucker, who was the Aberdeen-based editor of the Press and Journal for the past 18 years.
Mr Bates is the editor of the the Press and Journal's sister paper, the Evening Express.
The Press and Journal - which dates back to 1747 - is a regional daily for the north and north east of Scotland.
