Operation Maple targets drugs, violence and anti-social behaviour

Eleven people have been arrested during the latest phase of a crime crackdown in Aberdeen.

Torry, Tillydrone, Northfield, Garthdee, Woodside, Cults and the Bridge of Don were targeted during Operation Maple.

Drugs offences, assaults, vandalism and breaches of the peace were the focus.

Grampian Police said more than 100 people have been arrested, and drugs worth more than £200,000 seized, since Operation Maple started in October.

Det Insp Norman Stevenson, who led the operation, said: "Operation Maple has continued to deliver positive results for the communities and further improve the quality of life for those who suffer at the hands of criminals.

"We will not turn a blind eye to those people who cause misery within our communities by committing crime, which can have a dramatic impact on the quality of life for people on a daily basis.

"Operation Maple is about acting on the concerns raised by residents."
